FUJITSU TEN LIMITED will release six new autumn 2013 models of "ECLIPSE" car navigation systems "AVN" including three "Z series" and three "AVN Lite series" from FUJITSU TEN SALES LIMITED in start of November. Each model of "Z series" can provide search result by voice even when a user speaks to the model in normal and natural words, and narrow down user's destination while vocally interacting with the user. Each of "AVN Lite series" is easy to operate and a reasonable price.

Major Features of New Models

Three Z series: "AVN-ZX03i" "AVN-Z03iW" "AVN-Z03i"

Each of the functions of "Wi-Fi®" connection (Japanese aftermarket's first^(*1)) and "MirrorLinkTM" allows for linkage with a smartphone. Connection to a center server via a smartphone allows for various functions including searching for a facility from the latest contents through natural dialogue, and automatic provision of support operations for the user being at aloss, which facilitates "ease of use" and "safety" based on the connection function.

Concepts

ECLIPSE develops car navigation systems based on the concept that "safety" is essential for pleasant driving, and thus "easy-to-use" products providing "ease of operation," "ease of viewing," "easy guidance" and "quick search for desired destination" are required.
Based on the concept, ECLIPSE has released so far, for example, "AVN" series not blocking vision nor air bag operation, voice guidance starting the provision of gradual and finely detailed information 700 meters before the corner to turn, and image correction LSI "VVP3" for ensuring visibility on a display even in direct sunlight.

Some of newly released models connected to a center server via a smartphone in which a new application "CarafL" (voice interactive agent) is installed, allow a user to search for a desired facility while interacting with the agent for setting the facility as destination. This voice interaction method reduces user's vision movement to be done for checking the display screen, which facilitates safe driving.
Center-type voice interative service enables search by understanding the right meaning of spoken dialogue even with multiple words or without any fixed word. With additional conditions given through interactive dialogue, the searched results are narrowed down. A driver can obtain real-time information such as "available parking lots," a weather forecast and other information "easily as if talking with a person," which improves driver's convenience and reduces driver's stress.

ECLIPSE will also release the special application functioning as user's manual, "Dokodemo Support," that assists a user even a biginner to operate the car navigation system with confidence.
In addition, the cloud service "My Cloud" provided by FUJITSU LIMITED is available. By use of the special application "Drive Studio" (provided by FUJITSU), a user in a car can enjoy the photoes and the music stored in his/her smartphone or a personal computer at home.

"Connection to center" and "connection to smartphone." ECLIPSE keeps providing "more pleasant and active driving" to all of the users of car navigation systems with "easy-to-use" and "safe" products including various "connection functions," using ICT technologies of FUJITSU group.

Details of New Models

1. Easier to use and safer

New application "CarafL" (interactive agent) providing destination search by narrowing down search while interacting naturally New! (Refer to another press release)

• By connecting a smartphone in which a special application "Car-centric life Assistive Friend Link" (free to download) is installed to the car navigation system via Wi-Fi, a user can search for a facility and set a destination by voice.
• When a user speaks to the microphone dedicated to the car navigation system, the center server analyzes the spoken voice to understand its meaning even with no fixed word. Then, the application informs the user of the search result by voice.
• A user can narrow down the search result with an additional condition.
• A user can also search for weather forecast, and real-time information on parking lot availability.
• Original noise cancelling technology ensures high recognition rate even under noisy environment such as with road noises during driving on an express way or working sounds of an air conditioner.
• When a user pushes a speech button during playing music, the music is muted, which improves the accuracy in voice recognition.

Quick-response "flick & drag" providing wider operation range New!

The same flick & drag operations as on a smartphone are available on a menu screen and a character input screen, as well as a map screen.
A user can operate a scrolling operation speedy and precisely without feeling any stress due to its quick response.

"Wi-Fi" easily allowing for linkage between car navigation system and compliant application in smartphone! New! Japanese aftermarket's first^(*1)

Japanese aftermarket's first car navigation system equipped with Wi-Fi technology. "Wi-Fi tethering" connecting between a smartphone and a car navigation system easily provides connection to various smartphones.
On Z series, each of the voice recognition application "CarafL" (voice interactive agent) and the user's manual application "Dokodemo Support" is available by being connected via Wi-Fi.

"MirrorLink" allowing for displaying compliant application installed in smartphone on screen of car navigation system for operation! New!

Connection to a MirrorLink-compliant smartphone allows a user to make operations on the screen of the car navigation system displaying the contents to be displayed on the screen of the smartphone. It is convenient for the user because he/she can check the contents on the larger screen of the car navigation system.
The MirrorLink-compliant versions of "Drive Port," "DocoCar" and "Car News Reader" whose original versions have been already released, as well as "My Cloud"-linked new application "Drive Studio" (provided by FUJITSU), are released. These are available by use of MirrorLink-compliant smartphones.

(Note) This function requires "MirrorLink-compliant smartphones" that will be released by respective carriers.
The information on the compliant models will be provided on ECLIPSE website, as soon as the adaptability of the models is verified.
Each of these smartphones requires, for connection, a separately-sold connection code (the code"USB111" attached in the case of AVN-ZX03i) and a USB code released by respective carriers.

"Facility information distribution" for download of information on new facilities from center server New!

The information on new "convenience stores" and "gas stations" is available by download additionally on the navigation system. The information on more various facilities will be provided.

9.0 large screen (AVN-ZX03i)

• This screen is approximately 1.8 times larger than our 7.0 screen. The easy-to-see screen with larger buttons and larger characters on a map contributes to safe driving.
• The large screen provides powerful videos.
• The unit fits neatly into its interior panel by use of a dedicated installation kit by car model.
  Currently, dedicated installation kits for 22 car models including TOYOTA "PRIUS," HONDA "N BOX," and NISSAN "SERENA," are available (the most in the industry^(*1)).

Direct sunlight correction LSI "Vivid View Processor™3" providing better visibility

"E-iSac Display" drastically improves visibility reduction caused by direct sunlight on a display. This function automatically corrects tone (degree of density of color and brightness) and contrast according to the amount of the light striking the screen detected by the sensor set on a front face. This function eliminates the problem that the sunlight reflected from the display reduces the visibility on the screen with washed-out phenomena, which supports safe and secure driving.

Narrow street route guidance function

Traffic rule data (one-way traffic, etc.) concerning the narrow streets narrower than 5.5 meters are included. This function provides voice route guidance including narrow street information close to the destination, as well as an enlarged intersection view.

"Map update (one free update)" New!

Each user can update map data three times (for three years) including once for free.

(Note) Information on its distribution method will be provided on ECLIPSE website, as soon as the method is decided.

2. Setting just fit to user's taste available

Screen size selectable: "9.0," "7.0 wide" newly added, or "7.0" New!

"7.0 wide" just fit to a wide size opening is newly available. A user can select a screen size from 7.0 screen to 9.0 large screen according to his/her taste.

Screen design selectable: "5 patterns available for map design" and "4 patterns available for main menu" New!

A user can select a map design out of five patterns of "basic," "vivid," "Web type," "character highlighting" and "dark," and a menu out of four patterns including "3D display" and "PICT display" according to his/her taste.
User's pleasant driving is supported with an easy-to-see and personalized screen display.

"Variable LED" providing 210 colors for personalization of hardware switch lights (AVN-ZX03i) New!

A user can personalize illumination of the hardware switches on a body out of 210 colors.

3. More pleasant driving

Cloud service "My Cloud" provided by FUJITSU LIMITED being supported New application "Drive Studio" (provided by FUJITSU) allowing user in car to use music and photos stored in PC at home New!

The functions of "My cloud" provided for personal use by FUJITSU LIMITED is partially available on the car navigation system. The photo data and music data stored in a personal computer at home are transmitted to the car navigation system via user's smartphone for replay. The user can enjoy pleasant driving with various functions such as for listening to music at will by a car audio set, and setting as a destination the photographed place based on the GPS data included in the photo data.

(Note) This function requires any of FUJITSU computer FMV series (models released in Oct. 2012 and after) and a "MirrorLink-compliant smartphone" that will be released by each carrier.
The information on the compliant models will be provided on ECLIPSE website or by other method, as soon as the adaptability of the models is verified.

"Virtual Theater" allowing for producing acoustic space as if by 5.1-channel surround system, actually by four speakers New!

The "Virtual Theater" provides by existing four speakers the acoustic space having the power produced as if by 5.1-channel surround system, based on psychoacoustics.
The "Virtual Theater" controls sound data by lifting up the sound image existing at user's feet, as well as extracting a center component and a woofer component included in a sound source, and generating a virtual front speaker and a virtual subwoofer, so that the user feels the sound as if it came from the front.

Super compression technology "L format" providing full navigation functions (AVN-G03)

• AVN-G03 displays facility information with details such as "outside of business hours" and "drive-through." It is convenient because a user can check the details without actually going to the shop.
• AVN-G03 displays a "special" enlarged-map of an intersection, not just a simply enlarged map, which facilitates driving.

Full-seg & one-seg reception function of digital terrestrial television broadcasting (AVN-G03)

AVN-G03, as well as the upper models "Z series," supports full-seg broadcasting.

Character input method selectable: Mobile phone method or 50 syllabary direct input method (AVN133MW/AVN133M) New!

A user can select a character input method from the input method with a feeling similar to that done on a mobile phone and a 50 syllabary direct input method.

Narrow street route guidance function
