FUJITSU TEN LIMITED will release an interactive agent application "CarafL: Car-centric life Assistive Friend Link" with the release of new autumn 2013 models of ECLIPSE car navigation system, AVN (in early November).
By connecting a smartphone in which CarafL (free to download) is installed to the car navigation system via Wi-Fi®, a user can search for a facility or set a destination by voice.
When the user speaks to the microphone dedicated to the car navigation system, the uttered voice is analyzed on the center server. The center server understands the meaning of a word even if it is not a fixed word, and the application informs the user of the search result by voice. By continuing the interaction, the user can add a new condition to narrow down the targets.
Features of voice interaction
Since all of the processing required for voice interaction (speech recognition, understanding a meaning, speech synthesis) is performed on the center, the voice interactive application including the following features can be provided.
- To execute the extraction of the speech section required as a pretreatment of speech recognition and the noise cancellation specific to in-vehicle environment, with high accuracy
- The speech recognition in natural speech utilizing a huge amount of recognition dictionary database
- To estimate the speech contents and the intent of the speaker by use of the advanced understanding capability and an inference engine
- To execute the processing corresponding to the request from the speaker by use of various contents as well as the latest and real-time information
- To send back the execution result and the search result by natural speech, using a huge amount of speech dictionary database
