Alpine Electronics and FUJITSU TEN reach a basic agreement on joint development of in-vehicle platform

Alpine Electronics, Inc. and FUJITSU TEN LIMITED have reached a basic agreement to jointly develop the platform for in-vehicle devices in order to improve our product competitiveness. The joint development focuses on the basic software part common to products of both companies, and each company independently commercializes a product.
As automobiles are electronized, the in-vehicle devices provided by automotive electronics manufacturers like us become more sophisticated and combination of their functions is progressing.
In addition, customer needs for the in-vehicle devices are changing. There is a growing need for combining the functions of consumer electronic products represented by smartphones and the in-vehicle devices, and the roles of the in-vehicle devices are expanding. To meet these needs, we work on developing the platform for in-vehicle devices. Moreover, we improve the development efficiency through the joint development by both companies.
