FUJITSU TEN announced that the ECLIPSE 2011 Summer Model with three "Linked"
memory navigation models (AVN-F01i, AVN-Z01 and AVN-V01) will be available
in Japan at the beginning of July. The AVN-F01i is especially notable
for its linkage capability with the Apple iPhone to provide users with
a completely new car lifestyle.
Concepts Underlying the 2011 Summer Models
The Japanese car navigation market is replete with low-price memory-type
units. It is expected that the predominate trend of map media is moving
from HDD to SSD memory. However, user requirements for maps to be constantly
updated, with good visual quality and easy-to-use basic functions, even
at low prices, continue to increase.
Additionally, the Japanese celular phone market has seen the share of the
smartphones grow dramatically in comparison with just the previous year.
The use of various applications, making them distinct from conventional
celular phones, allows customers to customize their phones and this has
markedly changed our lifestyles.
In light of these rapidly changing market conditions, FUJITSU TEN is introducing
new navigation units under the banner of "Interfaces linking persons
and cars" in order to satisfy the varied needs of our customers and
in line with the current lifestyle changes.
Our goals are to create products that provide customers with novel uses
in connection with the iPhone, and embody the keywords of "Usability"
and "Linkage", as well enable a more convenient and comfortable
car lifestyle through products with high levels of operability and visibility,
fundamental characteristics of on-board devices.

Download the application and connect your iPhone with the AVN-F01i using the separately sold cord (IPC110) to make your car lifestyle even more convenient and fun.

This application enables users to use Twitter to easily post and share photos or messages about information based on direct experience (such as traffic jam information and recommended store/place information).
Connecting your iPhone to the navigation unit allows users to check for posted information on the unit related to their actual location and use it for the destination setting.
You can also post tweets using the navigation unit.
Sharing information in this way will certainly expand your driving pleasure.

After parking, disconnect you iPhone from the connecting cord and this application starts automatically.
Just press the record-position button to store the location of your parked car using GPS information.
When returning, start up the application on your iPhone to display, using augmented reality technology, the location of your parked car with an arrow and distance.
You can easily locate your parked car even in large parking lots where it seems easy to get lost such as those of amusement parks and shopping malls.

This application uses the navigation unit voice to read out headlines of recent important news in topics such as business, entertainment and sports (RSS feed provided by Yahoo! Japan) so that you can safely get up-to-date information even while driving.
You can switch the voice to your liking (male/female) and also adjust the reading speed.

2. Built-in Bluetooth Provides "Comfortable Connectivity" New！
Hands-free telephone and new Bluetooth audio device
Compatible with up to the most recent version 1.4 of the Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP). This application allows you to display on the navigation unit a list of music data stored in your cellular phone. Operations for using the navigation unit screen for selecting and playing your music have been made simpler so that you can easily and comfortably enjoy listening to your own music while driving. (Only cellular phones that are compatible with AVRCP 1.4.)
The hands-free telephone function contributes to safe driving.

This model can be connected with a genuine steering remote control to allow the driver to safely operate audio functions. 1. High-Spec Memory Navigation Unit Replaces HDD Units New！
High capacity map data and narrow street guidance function
These SD memory navigation units utilize the industry's largest 16-GB map SD so that standard HDD unit functions, such as traffic jam-sensitive route-search database, are also provided by these units. Other features of these high-performance navigation units include the "Map On-Demand"*4 function (usable for three years), and the "Narrow Street Voice Guidance" function that provides voice guidance regarding narrow street near your destination.

World's First! "E-iSac Display" Vastly Improves Poor Display Visibility due to Sunlight
Equipped with a sensor on the front to detect incoming light, this function automatically corrects tone (degree of density of color and brightness) and contrast according to the amount of light striking the screen. Safe and secure driving is ensured as this function eliminates the problem of sunlight reflected from the display reducing the visibility of the screen, causing it to appear washed out and making dark (low tone, low saturation) areas in particular difficult to distinguish.
Adjustment of LED backlight brightness and image color to improve contrast and conserve energy
In previous products, backlight brightness remained the same regardless of the image but this function analyzes image data for each scene, with low-level brightness for dark images and high-level brightness for light images, correcting the brightness level of the image data to maintain the same appearance as the original image thereby improving contrast.
Additionally, the power consumption of the backlight, some two-thirds of the total display consumption, is reduced by maximum of 54% and an average of 24% in comparison with previous products.
3. Enjoy Music in Total Comfort with the "E-VOLUTION" Function New！
E-VOLUTION automatic audio-level correction function
Equipped with the E-VOLUTION function, FUJITSU TEN's original audio-level correction algorithm. This function automatically adjusts the sound level of compressed audio files with different levels due to being recorded with various recording functions. Correction is performed when songs are switched to eliminate differences in sound level and provide a pleasant driving experience by reducing the amount of burdensome volume adjustments while driving.

Stable Terrestrial Digital Reception with FUJITSU TEN's Original Pinpoint Database
FUJITSU TEN has created a unique Pinpoint Database of information for terrestrial digital relay station that is recorded within the navigation units. Using this Pinpoint Database reduces the search time for locating terrestrial digital signals. This reduces the amount of time that the screen image is paused and provides continuous program viewing.
5. Map On-Demand
Can be used for three years after purchase
Map On-Demand can be used for three years after the product is originally purchased. You can also buy an updated map software version after that and this can be used for an additional two years.
Promptly obtain new information
Updated map data is provided in a minimum of seven days after a new highway or toll road is opened. Updating of map data allows for route searches to take new roads into consideration so that guidance to your destination using the optimal route is provided in a smooth manner.
Note: Transmission of updated data can take up to three months depending on the conditions of map update data acquisition/maintenance.Simple updating using your home computer
Update map data by downloading map data, using your own home computer, into an SD card for map data usage from the specialized site and then insert the card into the AVN. Time wasted by having to stop by a retail outlet for updating is eliminated since you can easily update maps at your own home. Additionally, there is absolutely no need to do anything within your car. (The AVN includes the specialized application software.)
6. Eco-Driving Support for Environmentally Conscious Driving
There are four steps to support drivers in enjoying driving that is both enjoyable and environmentally considerate.
(1) Eco Advice
Information that is useful for driving that is environmentally considerate ("Keep a light foot on the accelerator.", "Try not to use the air condition so much.") is provided when the engine is started, with advice in the form of 22 phrases/one per week..
(2) Eco Route
Route search utilizes information regarding fuel consumption of highways/toll roads and surface streets in order to display an icon next to the route (out of the five) that will consume the least amount of fuel. This is to suggest considering environmentally conscious driving.

This function evaluates your overall eco-driving rate from the perspective of accelerating from a stop, accelerating/decelerating, cruising and idling. Advice is displayed according to the five-level evaluation results.

(4) Fuel Consumption Display
Input the amount of gas added when refueling to calculate gas mileage and then your fuel mileage for the driving of that day is displayed. You can also display a history of your gas mileage in graph form. This allows you to review past gas mileage performance.
