Las Vegas, NV (January 5, 2008) . The new AVN6620’s widescreen display
and sleek design makes for a factory-fit appearance in a car’s console.
The AVN6620 is fully media-ready(*1) for SIRIUS or XM satellite broadcasting, HD Radio, and full control(*2) iPod® interface. Its two DVD decks allow simultaneous navigation and
rear-seat entertainment. Navigation offers the same precision as ECLIPSE’s
other AVN head units, with features such as 11 search modes, voice guidance,
and optional SIRIUS Traffic services. In particular, the AVN6620’s navigation
POIs use actual logos that are instantly recognizable instead of generic
icons. The 7. screen allows noticeably larger icons as well. For audio,
the AVN6620 24-bit DSP offers equalization, crossover, speaker position
setting and a high 5V preamp output for driving external amplifiers. For
added driving assistance, views from the optional front and rear view cameras
are displayed onscreen. AVN6620 audio includes Circle Surround II technology,
licensed from SRS Labs. This digital signal processing feature set includes
“Focus” which raises the soundfield, allowing the listeners to perceive
in-car sound coming from the front at ear level by creating a virtual center
speaker and adding to listening enjoyment. The ECLIPSE brand is associated
with superior sound quality and the inclusion of Circle Surround II maintains
that association.
