FUJITSU TEN SOLUTIONS PHILIPPINES, INC. achieves CMMI® Level3
FUJITSU TEN SOLUTIONS PHILIPPINES, INC. (FTSPI), represented by its President, Mr. Akira Ikezoe, has achieved Level 3 of the Capability Maturity Model IntegrationR (CMMI®)(*1) last July 25, 2007. FTSPI is the software development and hardware design subsidiary of FUJITSU TEN LIMITED based in Kobe City, Japan. Only few companies worldwide have achieved CMMI® Level 3 in the field of car audio and automotive electronic control units (ECU) software development and design (*2).

CMMI® is a guideline that software development companies in the world aim for. It has 5 levels. In order to achieve Level 5, the company has to have about 500 goals and practices. Out of these, at least 400 goals and practices must be satisfied to achieve Level 3.

Since its establishment, FTSPI applies its core values "Customer Focus" and "Highest Possible Quality" to its software development and hardware design for car audio, engine control units and the simulator for development and assessment "CRAMAS" (*3).

As the electronic technologies continuously progress, so does the importance of embedded software. In effect, it has been essential for FTSPI to improve quality, productivity and development efficiency of its software.

It is due to this reason that in the year 2003, the FTSPI's software development process improvement activity was started. In year 2005, the activity was reinforced to achieve CMMI® Level 3. Due to the efforts made by FTSPI team members, SQME Professionals Inc., the Philippine SEI partner in charge of CMMI® appraisal, certified the CMMI® Level 3 achievement of FTSPI. At present, FTSPI aims to achieve CMMI® Level 5 in 2010.

(*1)CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration)® is made public by the Carnegie Mellon University's
Software Engineering Institute (SEI) in United States, and is an internationally
recognized software development process improvement model and assessment standard.
