FUJITSU TEN (EUROPE) GmbH, Overseas Onsite Sales Corporation: Acquisition of Environmental Management System International Regulations ISO 14001 Certification
FUJITSU TEN (EUROPE) GmbH (Headquarters: Dusseldorf, Germany, Representative: Yasuyuki Hashimoto, Capital funds: 255,000 EUR), the overseas sales corporation for FUJITSU TEN LIMITED (Headquarters: Kobe, President: Takamitsu Tsuchimoto, Capital funds: 5.3 billion yen), acquired certification for the environmental management system international regulations ISO14001 on May 26, 2003.
FUJITSU TEN (EUROPE) GmbH is a 100% wholly owned subsidiary, established in December 1975 as a sales and service base in Europe for car audiovisual equipment, and automotive electronic devices.
Beginning with acquisition of certification at the headquarter/factory (Kobe) in 1997, our company has been actively promoting acquisition of certification at production sites throughout the entire group both in Japan and abroad. However, environmental consciousness is high in Europe, and certification acquisition activities have been undertaken at the sales base in question from February 2002.
Environmental controls in the representative region as well as the details of customer requirements were addressed, the base acted to provide feedback to the manufacturing and design departments, and measures including the reduction in the use of electricity, paper and water were taken.
Of course certification was acquired, but a significant effect of these measures was to heighten the awareness of employees regarding global environmental protection, through implementation of in-company training for all employees, as well as active participation in external seminars.
In future, activities will progress at the FUJITSU TEN Group for certification acquisition in December of this year at FUJITSU TEN (THAILAND) COMPANY LIMITED, which began full-scale production in August 2002.
